Rejoice and be glad with Jerusalem, * all you who love her!

Burst with joy for her, * all you who mourned her!

    Now you may drink and be filled * with the milk of her comfort.

    Now you may nurse with delight * at her ever full breasts!

       For Yahweh says this: * “Now I send prosperity flowing over her like a river,

       and the wealth of the nations * like a rushing stream.

    Like infants you will be carried on her back, * and cuddled on her lap.

    As a mother comforts her son, * so I will comfort you, * comfort you in Jerusalem.

When you see this your heart will rejoice, * and your bodies will be as fresh as young plants.”
