Psalm 80 Thursday Morning 2. Thursday Midday 3
Shepherd of Israel, listen; * lead Joseph like a flock.
Enthroned on the Cherubim, shine forth * before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh!
Rouse your power * and come to save us!
God, return to us! * and let your face shine * that we may be saved.
Yahweh, God of Armies, * how long will you fume * while your people prays?
You have fed us tears as our food, * and given us tears to drink by the bowl.
You have made us the derision of our neighbors, * and our foes made fun of us.
God of Armies, return to us! * Let your face shine * that we may be saved.
You brought a vine from Egypt, * drove out the nations and planted it.
You pushed aside its predecessors, * and made it take root, * and caused it to fill the land.
The mountains were covered with its shadow, * and with its foliage the towering cedars.
Its branches you made reach the Mediterranean, * and its shoots the Euphrates.
Why have you destroyed its hedges, * so that all who pass by pluck its fruit.
The boar from the forest cropped it, * and the field animals fed on it.
God of Armies, return, now! * Look down from heaven and see, * and visit this vine.
Take care of what your right hand has planted, * and of the son you strengthened for yourself.
Those who burned it with a blazing fire * —may they perish at your angry rebuke.
May your hand be on the man at your right, * on the son of man you strengthened for yourself.
We have never turned away from you! * Restore us to life that we may call on your name.
Yahweh, God of Armies, return to us! * let your face shine that we may be saved.
