Psalm 109                                                               Not used

My God, * be not deaf to my praise song.

For the mouths of the wicked * and the mouths of the deceitful * are open against me.

They pursue me with a lying tongue, * and with words of hatred surround me.

They attack me without reason * in return for my love * they slander me.

My prayer they charge against me, * returning evil for my good * and hatred for my love.

Appoint the Evil One against him, * and let Satan stand at his right hand.

At his trial let him come out guilty, * and his prayer become another offence.

May his days be few, * let another take his office.

May his children become fatherless, * and his wife a widow.

May his children ever roam and beg, * may their houses be assessed by the appraiser.

May the creditor seize all that he owns, * and strangers plunder his earnings.

Let no one extend him kindness, * or take pity on his fatherless children.

May his future life be cut off, * from the age to come his name erased.

May his father’s sin be recorded * by El Yahweh * and his mother’s sin not be erased.

May these be in front of Yahweh always, * while he cuts off his memory from earth,

since he would not think of showing kindness * but hounds the poor and needy man, * and would kill the broken-hearted.

Since he has loved cursing, * it has come to him.

Since he has disliked blessing, * it has gone far from him.

He put on cursing like a cloak, * and like water in penetrated his innards, * like oil his bones.

So let it be as a garment that enfolds him, * as a sash he always has tied around him.

The shameful earning of my slanderers * increase a hundredfold, Yahweh, * of those speaking evil about me.

So come, Yahweh, my Lord, * work a miracle for me, * for the sake of your wonderful name.

In your kindness rescue me, * for I am poor and needy, * and my heart is pierced inside me.

I am like a shadow stretching longer, * I am passing away, * my youth is gone, I am old.

My knees wobble from fasting, * once well fed, I am wasted away.

Those who meet me) * I have become their taunt, * they see me and shake their heads.

Help me, Yahweh, my God, * save me because of your kindness,

so that they will know that this is your handiwork, * that you, Yahweh, accomplished it.

So let them curse, * as long as you bless.

Let them rise only to be humiliated, * while your servant rejoices.

Let my slanderers wear their disgrace, * and put on their humiliation as a garment.

I will thank Yahweh the Great with my mouth, * in the midst of the elders I will praise him,

because he stands at the right hand of the needy, * to save his life from the judge.
